ARLINGTON, VA – On Tuesday, June 10, Dave Brat, a candidate endorsed by the United States Immigration Reform PAC (USIRPAC), defeated Maj. Leader Eric Cantor in the GOP primary for Virginia’s 7th congressional district.
Brat, an outsider candidate, toppled GOP Maj. Leader Eric Cantor in a hotly contested primary election with a particular focus on the immigration issue.
USIRPAC board member KC McAlpin said USIRPAC endorsed and donated to Brat due to his strong position against amnesty for illegal immigrants.
“USIRPAC has stood by Brat from the beginning because he understands how important the immigration issue is for our country,” said McAlpin.
McAlpin added that Brat’s victory is certain to send a strong message to party leaders about immigration.
“Brat’s victory is important because it will send a shock-wave to the GOP establishment that Americans stand against amnesty for illegal aliens. If Cantor can lose, so can anyone else.”
USIRPAC is the oldest continually active political committee in the nation fighting to secure our nation’s borders and defeat amnesty for illegal immigrants. For more information about USIRPAC, visit www.usirpac.org.
