USIRPAC Endorses Rep. Mo Brooks to Replace Attorney-General Jeff Sessions in the Special Election to Fill U.S. Senate Seat
For Immediate Release: May 22, 2017
Arlington, Virginia -The U.S. Immigration Reform Political Action Committee (USIRPAC), the nation’s oldest political action committee fighting for immigration policies that serve the national interest, today announces its endorsement of Congressman Mo Brooks in the special election for Alabama’s U.S. Senate seat that will take place August 15th. Among other candidates, the three-term Congressman is opposing former Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange, who was appointed to fill the U.S. Senate seat to replace Senator Jeff Sessions by Alabama Governor Robert Bentley, following Sessions appointment as U.S. Attorney General by President Donald Trump earlier this year.
Congressman Brooks is one of the few members of the House of Representatives to earn an ‘A+’ grade from the non-partisan immigration-reform group, NumbersUSA. He has been a tireless advocate for numerous immigration enforcement measures, including enhancing border security, protecting U.S. workers from unfair wage and job competition, and ending Anchor Baby citizenship.
USIRPAC is calling on its supporters to donate to and volunteer for Rep. Brooks’s Senate campaign. USIRPAC was the only federal PAC to endorse and donate to Virginia Rep. Dave Brat prior to his stunning upset of pro-amnesty House Majority Whip, Eric Cantor, in the 2014 Republican Party primary. Its other endorsements can be found on its website.
USIRPAC Director K.C. McAlpin said, “Already, we’re seeing Beltway insiders and Republican establishment groups, like the Senate Leadership Fund Super PAC, attacking Congressman Brooks for his defense of American working families and his America-First approach to immigration. They must not succeed.” McAlpin continued, “Few elected officials have shown the strength of character to stand up against the cheap-labor business lobbies, the globalist media elites, and the other mass immigration special interests in Washington, DC, that Congressman Mo Brooks has. Of all the declared candidates, his record shows he is the one guaranteed to follow in the footsteps of former Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions, when it comes to fighting for immigration policies in our national interest.”
